what i've been up to

This post is simply a re-cap of photos that I've posted on twitter in the past few days....with a little more than 140 characters ;)

I made this chalkboard for our kitchen this weekend. Originally, it was a $3 framed print from the thrift store. I painted the frame yellow, primed the glass, and did a couple coats of chalkboard spray paint. This time, however, I actually waited the 24 hours before using the chalkboard. It worked a lot better, than in the past when I try to use it as soon as it dries.
What? Me? Impatient? ha.

I woke up to this necklace from Chase this morning. Happy Valentine's Day, to me!

I made this skirt yesterday after my run. Took less than an hour, start to finish. Maybe a tutorial will come soon? :) I got the fabric in December from City Craft in Dallas.

Happy Valentine's Day, people. You are loved!

love.

  5. love the chalkboard! i'm actually about to make one myself, i'm just looking for the perfect color paint. i like that you used a primer first, before the chalkboard paint.

also, i love your yellow "EAT" hanging on the refrigerator. i assume it's a menu planner of some kind? where did you get it? i'm always on the hunt for a cute, magnetic, tear-off menu planner :)
