paper bag skirts

I have a fetish with paper bag skirts. I made this one back in the Fall and have seen them popping up all over the place.

The Sunday Shopping Skirt from Anthropologie

The Petite Paper Bag Skirt from Banana Republic

and for a mere $1,190 you can even get this Nina Ricci from Neiman Marcus. ((gag))

I don't have very long legs, so longer skirts seem to make me a bit frumpy looking. I made this one a bit shorter and I think it's the perfect length.

I loved it how it was, but it needed *something,* so I made a belt with a snap closure & cute bow accent to go around it. I love it!  It used this fabric by Tula Pink from Above All Fabric. It was initially purchased to make a handbag, but fate had other plans ;)

Anywho, it makes me happy.

What have you made this week that has made you happy?

**shop update coming later today!!**

I linked up here!

love.

  2. I love your skirt! I made a paper bag skirt recently, too, but it looks rather plain . . . I think I'm going to make myself a bow belt for it now! I made a dress this week that started out awful but actually turned out pretty okay--yay :-)
