handmade with purpose: oh, sweet joy + love146

Something I've never felt comfortable with is keeping all the money I've earned from my handmade business for myself. Part of that is being a believer in Jesus Christ & the importance of tithing. The other part of that is simply having a heart, a heart that breaks for people who aren't as fortunate as I am.

A heart that breaks for children not getting to live a normal childhood.

A heart that breaks for girls & young children who are enslaved from an early age in the trap of sex trafficking.

Simply put, love146 works to end child sex slavery & exploitation.

Please take a moment to read a little more about the story behind love146 here
OR take a moment to watch this brief video.

Love146 History from LOVE146 on Vimeo.

I'm honored to be a part of the difference Love146 is making in these children's lives.
I'm honored to be a part of Handmade with Purpose. Thank you Lindsay for putting this together. This is a beautiful thing.
I'm blessed to wear her number with honor, with sorrow & with a growing hope.

My challenge to you is to do something bigger than yourself. Open your hand & loosen that grip on your profits. I promise it feels better than a new pair of shoes.

So, with all that said, know that 5% of EVERY oh, sweet joy! purchase EVERY day of EVERY month goes straight to love146. Know that you are making a difference in children's lives just by buying a rosette headband or a coffee cuff.
Children are being rescued.
Children are being loved.

You can donate directly here. You can donate by purchasing items from the love146 store. You can donate by purchasing items from Oh, Sweet Joy.

Make a difference. It's easier than you think.

love.

  16. This is so inspirational! I feel the same as you about keeping the money from my creative business. I started donating to the local humane society as a form of tithing. It's a great feeling to be connected to something larger!
