favorite things friday: at the cabin

My favorite place in the world is Chase's family's cabin in Almont. It's near Crested Butte, where we spent a lot of time working and playing when we graduated from A&M and moved up into the mountains.

This place is where God taught me to be still. It's where He still teaches me to do so. There is beauty everywhere you look & listen here and I can never take it all in.

The sound of hummingbirds waking you up with their cute, high pitched buzz.
The sound of the river rushing just a few yards away.
The beauty of poppies, columbines, peonies, aspen trees, and robins hopping around.
The truest form of blue that is the Colorado mountain skies.
Rainbows after afternoon storms.
A giant Dr. Pepper during a drive through the mountains.
A yellow scout that demands to be driven.
Elk, big horned sheep, deer, bears, birds galore.
Cute little squirrels and chipmunks that we throw peanuts out for.
The smell of the woods.
The smell of the chiminea.
Taking time to sit. Be Still. Be with friends. Enjoy our surroundings.

These are my favorite things this Friday.

((ps saturday snapshot is postponed until further notice while we are "retreating" in the woods with our team from Boulder Well))
