blush tones & pleats

I've always been a fan of Lauren Conrad and I will admit that I pridefully rolled my eyes when she started doing collections for Kohl's. I never really liked Kohl's, but now I love checking in on what she and Elle are bringing to the table there. Her fall collection was just released and I must say, I'm kind of in love with the girly silhouettes, blush tones, and romantic ruffles.
My most recent blog sale's goal was getting rid of some things in my closet that weren't getting much wear in order to bring in some more "staples" to my closet. I want more timeless pieces that are capable of transforming into numerous outfits.

((sidenote//fun announcement in case you missed it on twitter: I recently took the job of Personal Shopper at our (anthropologie) store! I'm so excited to work with our customers and develop clients that I can help with their wardrobe needs. SO fun, y'all. This also means that I'll be sharing some of my fashion tips with you and this blog will probably take a slight shift towards fashion. Times they are a changing' Not sure how this will effect Oh, Sweet Joy! yet. I'm reminding myself to take one thing at a time!))

I'm *not* a pink girl, but I have to admit that I am really into blush tones right now. They're acting as a neutral this season, and you know how I feel about neutrals ;)

Here are a few pieces I picked up from Lauren's collection (that were already on sale AND I had a $10 coupon. boom!) The blazer and skirt I couldn't pass up. I also purchased some nude pumps that I'm pumped (har har) to wear. Nude pumps give an illusion that elongates the leg and make you look taller & slimmer (especially when worn with dresses and skirts). I put together a pretty little polyvore collage.

This outfit could easily be "funked up" a bit with some black pumps or booties and a black blazer. The options are limitless.

What kind of fall staples are you looking for this season?

love.
