Summer Staples ((outfit schmoutfit))

Instead of an outfit that I wore, this week I wanted to show you my picks for the summer. I tend to go neutral with a  pop of color, but colored denim makes me go all out most of the time. Here are two fun outfits based on colored denim and a white top. All items are from Anthropologie ((shocker, I know)) and are linked up below!

Colored Denim
These 7/8 Crops by Earnest Sewn don the color of the year and are the perfect addition to any wardrobe, if I do say so myself.

Want to take this trend a step further? Friend, I like your ambition. Let's add some polka dots and a brighter citrus tone with these amazing Current/Elliotts.

Not sold on the colored denim trend? My advice is to get an inexpensive pair from Old Navy {like these} or Target to see how you feel in them before you bite the bullet on a pair of Citizens or AGs.

White Tank
The Arethusa tank by {left of center} will give you a bohemian and effortless look. However, if you are going for a more classic silhouette, the Frankie shirt by Splendid is a fun & sleeveless tank on a button down.

More white tank finds:

Statement Necklace
Either of these necklaces could win supporting role for these two summer ensembles.

Other great places to find statement necklaces:

Multitude Hair Ties
These top rated hair ties give us yet another reason to keep scrunchies a thing of the past. They don't leave creases in your hair, they come in a multitude of colors (see what I did there?), and they look great on your wrist keeping your bracelets company while your hair is down.

Similar hair ties can also be found at TheTye.com.
How fabulously simple are these  Lucky Penny Ballast Wedges?  They will anchor down your outfit with a neutral tone and a little height.

((Spruce them up with one of these fun DIY projects
Floral Wedge Restyle // Geometric Wedges ))

Don't want to tower over the fellas? Try these stellar sandals instead. These "fireflower" gladiators come in a turquoise and a tan option for your outfitting needs.

Nail Polish
((in pinks, reds, corals))
Don't have time for a pedi?  Sheswai Nail Lacquer to the rescue. It is free from formaldehyde, toluene and DBP, comes in abundant shades, and gives enough coverage in one coat. To top it all off (literally), the lids are made from repurposed wood to cut down on plastic caps in landfills.

What are your summer staples you can't live without?

  1. My chaco flip flops! I wear them pretty much every day in the summer :)

  2. Those polka dot pants are too darling! And your list reminds me that I need summer sandals asap!

Love your picks. I tend to wear neutrals a lot too.

  3. I'm absolutely LOVING your summer staples! My SF summer staples are the same as my fall, winter and spring staples–blazers and cardigans 24-7!

  4. oh how do you display your ideas so beautifully ? what software do you use ? I have a basic apple laptop and have never purchased anything but now i am thinking that it would be a good idea for my blog ... but i am trying to see what other successful bloggers suggest first :) Hope you can help xxx

    1. Hi Chrissi!

Thanks for the sweet words. I use a combination of Adobe Photoshop CS4 and PicMonkey. :)
