a 24 hour ((anniversary)) getaway

Sometimes just a day away from the norm is oh, so good for the soul...especially when there's much to be celebrated. Chase and I celebrated four years of marriage on Thursday.

What a gift this man is. What a gift marriage is.

We went to the cabin and soaked up time with each other &  the Fall colors in Crested Butte. SO stunning. I can't ever ever ever get enough of seasons changing, especially when God's glory is so extravagantly displayed in golden aspens, orange foliage, and cooler temperatures.

We took the scenic route home, after a leftover picnic in the park, going over Kebler pass in Crested Butte all the way to Carbondale & Glenwood Springs, through Vail to see an old friend, and then back to Boulder. Somehow the 4 hour turned 7.5 hour trip was still peaceful and relaxing. It's kind of exciting to see parts of the state you've never seen before, isn't it?

Thankful doesn't even begin to explain it.

Oh yeah, and I got bangs before we pulled out of town on Thursday. Giggle.

  1. The pictures are amazing, looks and sounds like such a great time~

  2. Happy Anniversary!! So beautiful there! Blessings, Heather

  3. Happy anniveraary'! It looks like a beautiful way to celebrate.

  4. What fun! I was in Vail this weekend and it was STUNNING! The Aspens were so bright and beautiful. Glad you had a fun anniversary getaway.

  5. happy (belated) anniversary, friend! also i dig those bangs - a lot.

  6. Happy {belated} anniversary!! We're at four years too. I love road trips.. We are going to do a fall foliage tour the first weekend of October in the upper peninsula and explore some new (to us) parts (that are over 10 hrs from here - craziness!) I will FInally get to see that beautiful state of yours next July.. My friend is getting married in Denver. I am so excited! Also if any jobs open up in CO, hubby will more than likely be applying :)
