trend watch - neutrals and stripes

Stripes always make a big bang in the Spring and they are going strong through the Fall this year. However, let's rotate that fabric and focus on vertical stripes, inspired by men's pinstripe suiting. I'm all about it. Not only is it more flattering, but it is definitely more interesting. We'll be seeing a lot more neutrals this Fall, too. I usually don't like combining too many trends at once, but the stripes & neutrals combination might as well be my love language. Here are a few of my faves that I've found around the interwebs.

If you're a DIY-er, this neutral jersey knit would be an amazing vertical maxi skirt.

Do you see yourself wearing either of these trends this Fall? I feel like all of these pieces could be worn now and layered well when the temperatures drop. Win-Win, y'all.

love.

  1. I'd definitely do the neutrals trend, and I will probably do the stripes as well, since I inadvertently did the horizontal stripes thing big time. Just a shirt here or there... And then a dress... And then.... You get the idea. But to tell the truth, I am kind of tired of stripes. *Maybe* the vertical ones will be fresh enough for me... But maybe not.

  3. I like everything but that first pair of pants - those big, wide vertical stripes just look... circus-y. That scarf is a thing of beauty, though.

    1. haha! that's how i felt too. i tried them on and if i were still working at anthro, i'd buy them. otherwise, there is no place for them in a stay at home mom's wardrobe ;)
