Since we didn't say "love" until we were engaged he signed it with "like". So cute.

She came to my house with a cooked meal, a pack of my favorite soda, some alcohol (hah!), and a gift card for a substantial amount of groceries. I felt like Jesus had dressed up as my friend that day, known the very things that would speak love to me, and tenderly assured me it would all be okay. Turns out, it was all okay, and all of our needs have always been met, but that one gift was huge.

    ReplyDelete
  133. My favorite gift I've ever received has to be when my husband built me, with his own two hands, flower boxes out of old pallets so I could attempt to have a small garden on our deck. 148. I thought I already commented but just in case - the best gift I've ever received would be this year. I'm getting to celebrate my baby boy's VERY first Christmas and I cannot wait to spend time with mine and my husband's family and friends! This time last year, I was six months pregnant and lost my grandmother - we were extremely close - two weeks before Christmas. She passed just a couple of months before I gave birth to my son. This year we are making a special trip back home to see my friends and family the week of Christmas and then traveling back to our home to celebrate with more family! This is the first time I've been able to go back home for the holidays in almost 8 years and I'm getting to do so with my sweet baby boy. We are thrilled. This is by far the best gift I've ever received and I cannot wait to watch him receive all the love from our friends and families and attempt to open his presents. Although I know he will probably just try to eat the wrapping paper...

He wrote little love notes to me for 2 months straight, and then gave it to me when he returned. He's not a sappy guy by any means, so this was extra special and I still treasure it 8 years later!

  167. My favorite gift I ever received was my Kitchen Aid stand mixer. The hubby and I weren't supposed to be getting each other gifts that year since money was tight but he had saved up and surprised me. I LOVE to use it but I love the sentiment behind it even more.
