outfit schmoutfit ((boyfriend shorts + spring blooms))

This baby bump sure makes getting dressed difficult some days. Other days, I remember about the piko tops in my closet and it's warm enough to wear these shorts. Easy peasy. I sized up in the CAbi boyfriend short so that I wouldn't have to wear a belly band with them. They are SO comfortable and I know they'll be perfect postpartum because they won't be too tight on my hips.
Finding the right shorts for a twenty-something (or thirty or forty or fifty-something) can be difficult, especially if you're a mom and especccccially if you're pregnant. These are such a flattering length and they can be left cuffed or uncuffed for a little more length. Some general guidelines are to not go shorter than your fingertips when your arms are by your side and make sure they aren't skin tight. I like mine to be able to be pulled an inch or two away from my thighs.

((My other go-to shorts every summer are these.))

If you want to order these shorts, let me know below and I can get you in touch with my mother-in-law who sells CAbi or you can click here (scroll to the bottom) to shop the collection.

outfit schmoutfit ((fitted maternity dress))

I am a stubborn, stubborn girl when it comes to buying maternity clothing. I don't want pieces that I'll only wear for a few months and then see hanging in my closet until another bump starts to grow. I, for the most part, hate side ruching. However, there are exceptions  - one of them being that sometimes you need a nice  dress that accentuates the bump and makes you feel sassy every now and again.

This Isabella Oliver dress ((the Ellis)) is a great layering or stand-alone piece. I, personally, feel more comfortable with a layer on top....but earlier on in my pregnancy I think it would have been a great blank slate for a scarf or statement necklace or by itself. I've dressed it up with heels and a kimono and dressed it down with an olive utility jacket + converse. It's super versatile and the grey color will be flattering on anyone. I love a good neutral ;)

We hit 34 weeks this week and I am so ready to meet this little guy. Don't forget to check out our new Summer items - choose joy tanks, headbands, and wire wraps - that are in the shop as of today! Outfit details are below the following photo. Have a great week, everyone!

spring finds

Between overall busy-ness, home projects, being 8 months pregnant, traveling solo with a toddler to Texas for a wedding/Easter, the cold and snowy weather we've been having and trying to launch our Summer head wraps & tanks...there has been little time for outfit posts (to say the least). However, I've scored some amazingly versatile items from Riffraff recently that I wanted to share. As always, you can get 10% off your order by using the code OHSWEETJOY.

I'm envisioning that adorable tank dress being styled with skinnies until baby is born and then a lacy slip with a floppy hat and these sandals once I need a stylish and comfortable post baby outfit. I live in their piko tops postpartum because they are so accessible for nursing and cover up the leftover belly that hangs around. I just couldn't pass up the yoga bra (more colors available) because look how comfortable it looks!

Now, come onnnnnn Spring & Summer! This snow is for the birds.

((ps i also got this dress in lime and white and it fits now - SUPER bump-accommodating -, and will be perfect post-baby too!))
